About us
The SDSC/Calit2 Synthesis Center is a state-of-the-art meeting space in Atkinson Hall on the campus of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

Features
The Synthesis Center specializes in supporting high-end media-rich presentations:
- Giant 26 feet wide projection screen at three times HDTV resolution.
- Stereographic projection screen for 3D viewing.
- Multiple 42" LCD flat-screen displays.
- 5.1 surround sound.
- Polycom videoteleconferencing.
- Electronic printing whiteboard.
- Wireless networking with 802.11b/g.
The 26 foot projection screen can show a single triple-wide computer desktop, three separate computer desktops, or any combination. Each third of the screen supports visuals at up to 1920 x 1080 resolution (True HDTV).
The stereographic screen uses two aligned projectors and concentric polarization for passive stereo. Polarized stereo glasses are provided by the center. The stereo screen may be used for standard projection as well at up to 1280 x 1024 resolution.
The center has high-end desktop PCs and Macs available for presentations and software demonstrations. Visitor laptops may be projected at any resolution onto any of the center's screens.
