Privacy policy
Your privacy is important. This privacy policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
IP addresses
Every computer on the Internet has a unique “IP” address. When you request a web page from us, we recognize and save your computer’s IP address. This address reveals nothing personal about you other than the address of the computer you are using. We use this information to report on how many people are using the site, and to investigate misuse of the site. This information is not made public and is never sold.
Cookies
A “cookie” is a small piece of data that is sent to your web browser from a web server and temporarily stored on your computer. When you request a web page from us, we send your browser a temporary “session cookie.” The cookie’s data has nothing personal about you – it is just a unique number automatically assigned to you for the duration of your visit. This cookie is used to keep track of your individual preferences when viewing the site. The cookie is optional. You can block it or delete it from your computer and the site will continue to work fine.
Email addresses
If you make a reservation for the SDSC/CalIT2 Synthesis Center, you will be asked to provide the email address of a contact person. We need this address to confirm the reservation and to discuss with you any special requirements you might have. This address is recorded in our reservation list and is available to the Synthesis Center staff. It is not made public and is never sold.
